It will highlight key findings from a Vanderbilt University study on distribution channel trends in the toy industry as well as potential pathways to success.
The webinar will focus on the past decade, in which the channel power accumulated by a few large discounters and online retailers has had a profound impact, particularly on small manufacturers. Traditional toys have also seen increased competition, first from video games and then from mobile devices and apps. Given the challenging shifts in the industry’s retail channels and demographics, the webinar will explore tactics that toymakers have used in the past and other strategies for growth.
The TIA’s Anne McConnell, senior director of market research & data strategy, will moderate the webinar. Eric Johnson, the Ralph Owen Dean of Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management and the Bruce D. Henderson Professor of Strategy, will present it.
The webinar is free for TIA members and $49 for non-members. Registration can be completed online at the TIA website.
